In accordance with the XFS' 2nd Divisional Freedom Act of 2005, Division Commanding Officers may enact their own ranks in their own divisions. For a standard officer's rank comparison chart, please see the Military Ranks section.

Notes:

• The Founder rank is ceremonial and does not exist within the standard chain of command, but are responsible for ensuring that XFS continues to exist as the organization it was founded to be.
• The Commander-In-Chiefs are elected every four months in clan wide elections.
• Division Commanding Officers are apart of the military and are appointed by the elected Administration.
• Department Commanding Officers are elected every four months in clan wide elections. Some departments do not follow this rule, see individual department sections for notices.
• The Cadet/Trainee rank is given only to those who need extra practice or probationary time before becoming a full Officer.
